Biography
Ms Leah Buencamino has been Counsel at the ACWL since January 2018. Before becoming counsel, Ms Buencamino had been legal assistant at the ACWL since 2012. As Counsel, Ms Leah Buencamino assists ACWL developing country Members and LDCs in all stages of WTO dispute settlement proceedings, provides advice on WTO legal issues, and teaches in several capacity-building activities, including the ACWL training programme on WTO law.
Prior to joining the ACWL, Ms Buencamino completed several temporary assignments for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and worked as an intern at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Ms Buencamino is a Swiss national, of Swiss and Philippine origin. She holds a Licence degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) (With Merit) from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. She is fluent in French and English.
