Ms Sílvia Mulhovo, from Mozambique, is a Legal Officer in in the Department of Economic and Finance Studies of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique, which she joined in 2017 following a one-year internship at the World Trade Organization. Her duties include advising on WTO and other issues affecting Mozambique’s trade policy. Prior to her WTO internship, Ms Mulhovo worked for Mozambique’s Department of International Cooperation, where her responsibilities included acting as the focal point for implementation of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Protocol on Investment and Finance and the SADC Protocol of Trade, monitoring and advising on issues related to the negotiation of the African Continental Free Trade Area, participating in negotiations with Economic Cooperation Partners (World Bank) for social and economic development programmes, and preparing legal opinions on economic and social development agreements.
Ms Mulhovo holds a Master’s Degree in International Trade and Development from the Institute of International Trade of Adelaide, Australia, and Bachelor Degree in Law, from University of Lisbon.
