Mr. Antonio Alexander Paredes Coronel, from Peru, is a Legal Specialist in the Legal Coherence and Defense of International Trade Commitments Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR). His responsibilities include formulating the legal strategy for defending Peru’s international trade interests in international forums such as the Andean Community (CAN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as with regard to international trade agreements to which Peru is a party. He is also responsible for preparing legal opinions on foreign trade and negotiating international trade instruments on dispute settlement.

Before joining MINCETUR, he worked in the Customs Department of the Tax Court of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the Peruvian Customs Authority (SUNAT), and the Commission on Dumping, Subsidies, and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers of the Peruvian Authority on Unfair Competition and Intellectual Property (INDECOPI).

Mr. Paredes holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Peru Federico Villarreal and is completing a master’s degree in Customs Law at the same university.
