
The ACWL has invited six candidates to Geneva for interviews under the Secondment Programme for Trade Lawyers 2009-2010. The ACWL Recruitment Board will conduct the interviews on 27 and 28 April 2009.
The selected candidates, qualified government officials from Burkina Faso, Colombia, Egypt, Malawi, Uganda and Uruguay will compete for up to three places available under the Programme. These candidates were selected from among 47 applications from government officials of 30 different ACWL Members and least-developed countries. The successful applicants will begin their secondment in September 2009 and complete it in June 2010.
Since the Programme began in 2005, the ACWL has trained government officials from Bhutan, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Egypt, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Pakistan, Paraguay and Turkey. The ACWL continues to extend its appreciation to the governments of Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden and Norway who made it possible to launch and continue the programme.
The ACWL hopes to begin the recruitment process for the 2010-2011 Programme in February 2010.
