In April 2008, the ACWL completed its sixth annual training programme on WTO law and awarded its Certificate of Training to 30 Geneva-based delegates. Among them were 11 delegates from least-developed countries.
This year’s programme, which commenced in October 2007, covered the WTO agreements governing services, intellectual property rights, agriculture and trade remedies. At the end of the course, the ACWL conducted a moot court simulation of a dispute settlement panel proceeding that covered the substantive issues addressed in the course.
The next ACWL training course on WTO law and jurisprudence will start in October 2008 and will focus on the WTO dispute settlement procedures.
