The ACWL invites applications to the 2007-2008 Secondment Programme for Trade Lawyers. This Programme has been made possible by funding provided through the generosity of the governments of Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Norway and Sweden.
Under the Programme, two successful applicants will join the staff of the ACWL as paid trainees from mid-September 2007 to mid-June 2008. The Programme is intended to provide government officials entrusted with functions relating to the legal aspects of trade policy the opportunity to broaden their professional experience in the field of WTO law by temporarily joining the staff of the ACWL. The participants will be provided with both theoretical training and practical experience in WTO law and an opportunity to participate actively in WTO dispute settlement proceedings. Upon completion of the Programme, the participants are expected to resume their employment with their government.
ACWL Members and least-developed countries are invited to nominate suitable candidates. They may each nominate no more than two candidates, who should be government officials. Applicants must provide a detailed CV and complete a personal history form. This form can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page or provided electronically upon request by contacting info@acwl.ch. Further details of the application procedures and eligibility requirements can also be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
The final date for the submission of the applications is 12 April 2007.
