The Advisory Centre on WTO Law (ACWL) is a Geneva-based intergovernmental organisation that was established in 2001 to provide legal advice on WTO law, support in WTO dispute settlement proceedings and training in WTO law to developing countries and least developed countries ("LDCs"). The terms "country" and "developing country" include customs territories and countries with economies in transition. The ACWL was created to ensure that these Members of the WTO have a full understanding of their rights and obligations under WTO law and an equal opportunity to defend their interests in WTO dispute settlement proceedings.
